I agree with lifting or easing travel restrictions but only locally , say 2/3 miles from home ... Not daft distances ,... When the world needs compassion the most ... Out come the profiteer mongrels ... Disgrace in the face of deaths ... They should be named n shamed n boycotted ...tarred n feathered

We are allowed to travel 50km from home. But Queensland in the passed 4-5 days has had only 1 new case and still 98 active cases.
Western Australia is also easing restrictions. We are doing better then the other states.

Some US states are easing restrictions with limits such as social distancing and wearing masks. It seems to be a balance between virus and economy. Most schools here only have a couple more weeks, so it would be foolish to open for that period of time. They are also making plans for when school opens in the fall in case there is still a problem,. Virtual learning is going OK, but there is nothing like face to face contact. Most students miss their friends. Day cares still closed, so it makes it difficult for parents to go back to work. It doesn't affect me much - except getting my hair cut and colored - as I am retired. I am getting my spring housecleaning done; just finished painting the bathroom. I hope work doesn't open too soon and we have to do this all over again. If everyone would adhere to the rules, we woujld be able to get back to normal sooner.

It seems the scientists are on the verge of a medication that shortens the duration of the virus. Vaccine getting closer, maybe by the end of the year. It's going to be a looong summer.

It is very scary when you go to the store and 90% of people are wearing Masks me included.I feel like I'm throwing anything in my cart which is not the way I'm used to do my shopping but I want to get out of there as soon as possible.I was at the store this morning and I could see that meat is not as plentiful as it was a week ago and see many empty shelves.

Think maybe too soon. I am just going by what Queensland has done. Even though we have had 1 case in the passed 4-5 days. Schools are not fully open. Only children that can not stay home because parents are still working are allowed to go, otherwise all other students have to stay home.
No day cares are open. Many businesses still closed - social distancing still applies

Thank you. The hp arranged for a farewell video to Malaysia for her family last night to bid her goodbye. O Lord, flood them with Your peace which surpasses human understanding at this valley they are walking through. The hp did not allow the 6 year old son in. He had to stay in the car with a friend whilst his dad was inside with another friend.

Australia seems to be doing very well compared to other places. Your cold weather is coming, I wonder if that will affect things.

It's definitely too soon to open things here in Montreal . The cases are climbing every day . Our hospitals are full because they are occupied by seniors who cannot be returned to the senior living facilities because of deplorable conditions there .Many employees of these facilities are either sick or walked out due to lack of protective equiptment.

The English school board is refusing to open schools , the government says they legally have to .

The takeaways I get from this pandemic so far are how awful seniors are treated in these senior living facilities .

People can be selfish . Many are not social distancing, and streets are crowded .

Also we were really grossly unprepared for this pandemic . I don't think many governments believed it would reach so many countries and at such huge proportions . :)

US starting to open again with social distancing. Many are taking advantage and congratulating in large groups. I know it is a hardship, especially for those who have lost their jobs either temporarily or permanently, but I'm afraid if we open too soon we will have it to do all over again.

Our restrictions are easing off. But state borders still closed and looks like we are going to open borders only to some states.
Since we can travel bit further now, got to see my son the week end before ( New South Wales Queens birthday long week end) . As he is a Queensland resident he could cross the border from New South Wales with a border pass. Then he stayed the week end and back to New South Wales for work .

There have been protests here as well

Yep border pass.....i know sounds silly. Since Queensland borders are closed only Qld residents and essential workers are allowed to enter.
My son said he did it while waiting in the car in line to cross over the border on his phone. Then just showed them his phone, comes as a PDF file. Then they just let you straight through makes the process quicker.

We could open up more if people would wear masks and social distance. Colleges in US open and cases go up because kids go to school to party. Labor day weekend brought out millions to beaches with no social distance. When will we ever learn?

Everything is open here in Montreal . Schools have been open for a week and already 120 schools have at least one case of COVID 19 . Kids are afraid to go . They opened a kids helpline. Bars are open . They just announced yesterday that singing is now banned in bars .No dancing allowed either .

Masks are mandatory here but no one wears them and they do nothing to enforce it . I have not seen any social distancing . You would never know there is a pandemic. I find it horrifying .

Here's today after they announced they were going to start issuing tickets up to 6000.00 for non compliance

"Thousands of Montrealers march to protest against wearing masks
Several speakers railed about fake news and downplayed the seriousness of the virus. "It's not that serious. It's like a bad flu and masks don't contain the spread."

Well here in Australia all states have banned the state of Victoria, their numbers have sky rocketed especially in old age homes.

Millionaires think they have exemptions from quarantining and finding loopholes to enter Queensland.

epidemics USED to use disease/virus deaths as % of overall deaths. But I think if that were done, it would soon be discovered there is no epidemic. So the governments use "cases" . "Cases" are going up, yet deaths are lower then Mar-May. A bomb shell revelation by a Chinese defector proves it was manufactured in Chinese lab to easily tranmit and cause a wide array damage to organs. (Look at Lite Site New. com)
  • Bobert

I think the 'wide array of damage'
Is not yet known .. Figures of affected and deaths are manipulated

  • Bobert

It just goes to show, though
Take your eye off the ball ...not everyone was taking notice of precautions
Going about there business as normal, the Young ones at mass beach parties and gatherings, in city centers ... Then taking it home, to mums n dads and friends who didn't go to such placed , who then go about their business .. Spreading, further .. My city is now on 'banned' from meeting in private homes or gardens .. As of midnight ... "the rule of 6, and a 22.00 pm venue curfew''
So if places still open ....close before ten ...all is fine .... Like ... The virus becomes more active? Vampiric once the suns down ? Like WTF ....
Also read...monthly average deaths over the years in my country ... It all just doesn't add up , as these figures barely change ...
And a defected Chinese scientist admitted ...'man made' how true .. Who knows ...
Our prime minister wanted us all back out n about , as he wanted 'herd immunity'.
Let every one come in contact with it.. Russian roulette ... If you perish you perish .. Then we can get back to normal ?????

As of Saturday our State has gone to Stage 5 meaning that all businesses can operate at 100%
They are still saying you should still wear a mask and keep your distance
I do not think this is a good thing because people are still dying the Virus has not gone away
I think our numbers will definitely be going up.
I do think that the Governors choice to do this is political because he's up for reelection.

Hope everyone is doing well

Interesting to hear how everyone is doing in various parts of the world . It seems to come and go in waves .There seems to be a lot of politics involved everywhere too .

We were put in RED today in Montreal which is the highest alert level . All restaurants and bars closed today . No private gatherings allowed . For a month at least . My job is working from home . I also have an E bay business which i probably will close down for awhile again .

I hope people start complying . When i think of all of the cancelled surgeries etc , the horrible over burden on the heath care system as well as loss of businesses , it's very selfish not to comply.

I don't think China has any cases now . People comply there , also i think they have a vaccine .
